LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT: FRANCIS X. ACUNZO

On Monday, April 5, 2010 the Medical Spa Society Board voted to appoint me the new President of the organization.  It is with great honor that I accepted this position and am able to serve our industry to help build it stronger.

As with many businesses, the recession took its toll on the MSS.  Now that our economy is beginning to heal, it is time to revitalize the Medical Spa Society and make it the preeminent trade association for medical spas and cosmetic practices.

As President, I plan to reposition the organization and broaden the membership base to include cosmetic practices. The plan is to include representation of these practices in both committees and board positions. In addition to expanding the board, we will be appointing chairpersons for marketing, membership and education committees to help drive the Board’s initiatives forward.

As the cosmetic medical industry has grown, it is very clear that there is a need for more business and clinical education / training. I believe that the MSS is the organization best suited to provide this for our industry’s professionals.  I am honored that the Society believes in and values my extensive business experience in the aesthetic and spa industries. By leveraging my experience pioneering and leading other industry trade associations, we will move the MSS forward to become a major support to its members and the industry as a whole.
